Course Objectives

Demonstrate competencies expected of a registered nurse at advanced beginner level in various healthcare settings.
Demonstrate competencies required of a registered nurse, according to Singapore Nursing Board’s Standards of Nursing Practice, and Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Demonstrate ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Demonstrate competency to promote self management in patients and their families.

Course Structure

Duration:Full time 3 academic years, 2 semesters per year
Yearly Intakes: April and November

Entry Requirements

Minimum Academic Qualifications:
5 SPM credits in English, Mathematics, Science and 2 other subjects, OR

Completed private chinese high school year 1 with credits in English, Mathematics, Science and 2 other subjects.
Applicants whose 3 core subjects were NOT conducted in English are required to sit for an entrance examination and attend an interview.
Only those that passed both examination and interview will be selected and have to attend a 2 months Medical English course.

Health Requirement:
Certified fit by registered medical practitioner in Singapore to pursue the course.
Free from physical handicap
Tested negative for Hepatitis B antigen

Other Requirement:
Passed selection panel interview.
Passed medical examination in Singapore

Course Description

This diploma course is designed to train people who wish to advance their career with a formal qualification in psychology and those who want to pursue a degree in Psychology. Individuals with a psychology background are better able to manage relationships and interactions in the work environment.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for both students as well as working adults who wish to gain a broad understanding of psychology and how it applies to daily living and the working world.

Entry Requirements

* Diploma: GCE 'O' level certificate (minimum of 5 credits, including English) or equivalent.
* Those who do not have the required GCE 'O' qualifications or equivalent may be considered if they are working adults with 3-5 years work experience with some evidence of prior learning. The College will consider such applications on case by case basis.
* Applicants whose entry qualification was not attained in English medium are to meet the IELTS requirement with an overall score of at least 6.0, with band less than 6.0.

What is Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging?

If you like to work in a caring profession, with a diverse range of people and patients, then diagnostic radiography / imaging may be for you. Radiography carries high levels of responsibility within the environment. Would you like to use complex and specialized equipment and develop professional skills in addition to academic ones? If so, BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging may be degree programme that you are looking for.

As a diagnostic radiographer, you will be need to be confident in providing a specialized service to patients, whilst showing them care and empathy. Using X-rays and variety of imaging modalities, you will be responsible fro producing high quality imaging examinations to assist n the diagnosis of patients?injuries and diseases. This degree programme (with honours) from the University of Hertfordshire is offered in Singapore by Parkway College. It is aimed at preparing suitably qualified individuals to pursue a career in diagnostic radiography and medical imaging, which has good employment prospects in Singapore and overseas.

* 4 GCE "O" levels credits including English (as a first language) Mathematics and 1 Science subject, but excluding CCA

For applicants whose entry qualification was not attained in English medium are to meet the following English language proficiency requirements:

* TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper based) or 213 (computer-based) or
* IELTS with an overall score of at least 5.5

Applicants whose English language level does not meet the above minimum requirement may have to take an English Course prior to enrolment in the programme.
